2007
The positive growth of sales for ComAp Czech continued in 2007 with an increase of almost 50% compared with 2006. The new InteliLite NT family of auto-start and stand-by controllers was introduced, which added a number of key advantages to the highly successful InteliLite family of controllers. It is the first controller in this category offering full even and performance log of a gen-set.
In addition, a new subsidiary of ComAp Systems, which is focused on switchboard solutions was opened in Saudi Arabia and is working alongside ComAp Systems KSA to serve the booming market in the Middle East. ComAp Control companies, who provide switchboard solutions using ComAp controllers, experienced higher growth rates than the parent company and became a significant part of our overall business.
2006
It has been another successful year for ComAp, with sales increasing by an
impressive 35% compared with 2005. The new NT family of controllers was completed
with the launch of InteliMains NT. As a result, the NT platform can now handle
the most demanding installations of gen-sets - with complex bus structure, many
mains feeders and bus-ties.
The new PC software InteliSupervisor for gen-set fleet management was also developed, enabling online and
offline supervision of large numbers of gen-sets via internet communication, providing immediate access to all
important alarm messages from any gen-set. ComAp was chosen to deliver a number of prestigious turnkey contracts
for complete control systems for data warehouses for major banks based in the Czech Republic.
Links with other leading producers of diesel engines in the field of bi-fuel conversions continue, with this
close cooperation resulting in the successful completion of our first conversion of a big slow-speed engine
to bi-fuel operation. And, MCE, our join venture company with Motortech, has transformed into ComAp LLC and
became our newest subsidiary.
ComAp Systems, our UK based subsidiary celebrate their fifth anniversary with growing staff levels, higher
turnover, and an increased market share. The introduction of a contracts manager and additional engineers for site
operations, has allowed the company to become even more customer focused.
And, last but not least, ComAp was awarded an excellent third place in Czech Republic and fifth in Europe in
the 'Best Employer Study' conducted by Hewitt Associates.
2005
ComAp continued its successful development throughout 2005 with sales
growing more than 50% during the year. Exciting new relationships were
developed with the creation of our new company MCE Electronics
- an exciting joint venture between ComAp and Motortech. MCE will promote,
sell and support ComAp's products in the USA and Canada
ComAp launched IG-NT and IS-NT in 2005 after investing the equivalent of
2000 days in their development. The 'New Technology' line brings
unprecedented flexibility, performance and compatibility with Electronic
engines. With the significant growth in demand for Bi-Fuel conversions,
ComAp in 2005 established a new mechanical design house to meet the needs
of increased customer demand.
2004
ComAp has made a significant leap forward over the last year. Our
market share has improved along with the market growth, and for the
first time, our turnover has passed 7 million USD.
The new ComAp product InteliDrive for non gen-set, engine driven
applications was released during 2004 and ComAp, with the help of
Huegli Tech, became the authorized supplier of the Volvo marine
division. Alongside this a new joint venture company, 42T was
established offering complete solutions and together with Motortech,
ComAp released an 'All-In-One' product for gas gen-set applications.
New large contracts for bi-fuel conversion kits in Nigeria, Indonesia
and India were signed. By establishing a new software house in the
north of Bohemia we aim to enlarge the development team to create and
improve new customer solutions and products. Finally, the universal
production functional tester was finalized to improve the reliability
and efficiency of production tests.
2003
Special firmware for InteliGen and IteliSys is launched
to enable control and communication with "electronic
engines". User-friendly engine specific solutions
for Catterpillar, Volvo Penta, GM, MTU, Scania... engines
are available. Family of Conversion Kits for high-speed
engines is released; first successful installations
were in Pakistan, Peru, Nigeria, India... The Kit enables
economical, safe and reliable conversion of high speed
engines to bi-fuel operation. InteliGen GPU, special
version for 400 Hz applications, is chosen as a control
system for Ground Power Unit for Eurofighter Typhoon.
ComAp's technology is used to convert three 2.4 MW slow
speed engines in Peru and two 2.8 MW slow speed engines
in Indonesia to Bi-fuel InteliGen platform is used as
Propulsion load-sharing controller for Volvo Penta's
D12 marine "electronic engines".
2002
InteliSys, our top end product is released.The product is dedicated to CHP and large engine control applications. New mid-range product InteLite is launched for AMF and MRS applications (Auto Mains Failure and Remote Start Functions)ComAp signs the key manufacturing and distribution agreement on the USA market with GAC - Governors of America Corp. New conversion project of two engines in Nigeria starts.ComAp wins large projects in China (Telecom), South Africa (Telecom), India, UK (Telecom), and Turkey... ComAp is recognized as a major player in the power generation control market.
2001
The biggest installation for ComAp (23 gen-sets running
in parallel) at Ghana gold mine is successfully completed.
ComAp obtains the marine Germanischer Loyds approval
and commissions the first ships. Denox 8/16 sensors
version is developed to be able to monitor a knocking
at each cylinder of the engine. ComAp Ltd. - 100% UK
based ComAp daughter company is established close to
Bristol. Its objective is to service the customers asking
for turnkey deliveries and special customized applications.ComAp
increases the number of partners by introducing Servintel,
covering Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. ComAp completes
the conversion of four 1,2MW Skoda engines in Nigeria
from diesel to Bi-fuel.
2000
InteliGen is released. First installations of InteliGen are carried out in Australia, China, India, South Korea, UK, South Africa and many other places follow successfully. InteliGen becomes one of the best products available on the market. The market feedback is fantastic and ComAp make significant investments into the modifications, new versions, branches and customizations. Step by step new functions are released: AMF, Synchronizing, Baseload, Load sharing, Power management, SMS control.
1999
The strategic co-operation with HuegliTech Company
starts. Thanks to HuegliTech, ComAp significantly increases
the distribution network in Europe and Asia. ComAp decides
to increase activities and enter into diesel gen-set
control market. The new platform for diesel gen-set
market "InteliGen" is to be introduced.
1998
ComAp obtains ISO9001 certification and increases the
quality level of manufactured products. The co-operation
with Motortech starts. As a result of this co-operation
we develop Denox - an engine knocking detection system.
ComAp expands into Germany and obtains the first major
customers in this territory. The first gas turbine control
system is developed and commissioned. A Conversion kit
from diesel to Bi-fuel INCON for low and middle speed
engines is developed. As a result of joint co-operation
between ComAp and MotorSystem it is installed at pilot
project in Trebic in the Czech Republic.
1997
ComAp successfully completes its first conversion of diesel engines into gas in Czech Republic. ComAp develops and delivers the compressor controller for airport starting systems. ComAp obtains a contract for Bi-fuel gen-set control in oil- fields in Peru.
1996
First CHP installations with Waukesha, Wartsila and Caterpillar gas engines are successfully commissioned. PX, the new gen-set CHP control system is developed, for the first time we introduce configurability and programmability of inputs and outputs of the controller in order to satisfy client requirements.
1995
ComAp focuses on gen-set controls as a main strategic line.
We deliver our systems to Italy to control large CHP gen-sets.
ComAp soon reaches significant market position on Italian CHP market.
Prague underground selects ComAp as an exclusive supplier of
wagon digital announcement system.
1994
Following enquiries leads to the commissioning of 2 systems
in the tropical Amazonian forest in the Peruvian oil fields.
MX - the engine controller of second generation is developed.
The new controller is to include synchronizing, power measurement and CHP functions.
Two communication channels provide sufficient expandability and communication
features for the product application. This very powerful and revolutionary
unit is in great demand for another 8 years.
Czech Railways selects ComAp as their preferred supplier of digital announcement
systems, with prosperous orders to follow.
1993
For the first time we exhibit at Hannover Industrial Fair, where we meet with
Mr. Karl Untersander, president of Swiss semiconductor component distribution
company. Together we are establishing the semiconductor distribution company
HT-Eurep. HT-Eurep, operating in Czech and Slovakia soon becomes one of the most
recognized player on the market.
A significant order of a 4 gen-set control panel system with commissioning in
Mediterranean islands is successfully achieved.
1992
Martin Malek, our key external SW engineer becomes the third partner of ComAp.
ComAp grows quickly into the leader in the micro-controller development tools in
our country. Although this never becomes the main activity of ComAp, our dominant
position in the field of development tools remains for next 10 years in the whole
Eastern and Central Europe.
We are improving our engine monitoring system by adding engine controls. Our first
"controller" is born and successfully installed on the 1,7MW Bi-fuel engine in this year.
The installation takes 3 days and nights in the Czech cold winter. The best part of
the project is to complete software on site while wearing mitten gloves.
1991
Two co-founders, electronic engineers Libor Mertl and Ales Prochazka are leaving
the Engine Research Institute and are establishing the Computer Applications Company.
Two PCs 286/AT are the establishing capital of the new limited company. The first
contract is signed, worth 300USD for speech annunciation unit for blind people.
This initial project is leading later in that year to a favourable opportunity which
is winning a military contract to make the digital speech early-warning announcement
system worth 60K USD.
CKD, the biggest Czech engine OEM makes an enquiry for an engine monitoring system.
The development of the unit with requested dimensions 1,8x1,5x0,5m begins. The initial
system is monitoring 25 inputs from the engine for protection purposes.
The company develops an In-Circuit Emulator 8051 for internal usage.
Many local companies need an emulator as well, and so we are offering the first
In-Circuit Emulator to our friends and customers.
